Same-game parlays let you stack multiple legs from a single contest into one ticket — and tonight's card across MLB and the NFL preseason gives us a few spots we like. Here's what we're looking at for August 16, 2026, with the reasoning behind each leg.
What is a same-game parlay, and why build one tonight?
A same-game parlay (SGP) pulls two or more selections from one game — think a run-line leg combined with a strikeout prop on the same pitcher. All legs must win, just like a standard parlay. The key difference is correlation: outcomes within one game can be linked in ways that cross-game parlays can't replicate. If you're new to the format, our breakdown of Same-Game Parlay vs Standard Parlay — What's the Difference? covers the full picture.
The tradeoff is that the house edge still compounds per leg. Keep your ticket tight. Experts generally recommend stopping at two or three legs max — our guide on how many legs to put in a parlay explains the math behind that advice.
Tonight's best same-game parlay picks
We pulled lines from multiple licensed sportsbooks — DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and bet365 — for tonight's slate. Odds vary by book, so shop around before placing. Available in legal online sports betting states only; as of mid-2025, roughly 30 states have regulated mobile wagering.

MLB same-game parlay legs we like tonight
On the baseball side, SGPs typically combine a run-line, a pitcher strikeout total, and a team total. The legs correlate naturally — a dominant starter usually drives down run totals and boosts his own strikeout number. Stack them carefully. Our Best MLB Parlay Today page has the individual game lines updated through first pitch.
One quick math check: a standard two-leg parlay where both legs price at -110 pays roughly +264. Add a third leg and you're compounding the book's margin further — closer to a 12.5% hold on a three-legger at -110 across the board, per Unabated's analysis. Keep that in mind when you decide whether to add a fourth leg for more payout.
NFL same-game parlay options for tonight
Preseason games offer SGP opportunities, but line movement is sharper and props can be limited. If you're building an NFL SGP, pair a passing yard prop with a receiving yard prop from a matching offensive connection — a quarterback-to-receiver combo where one leg helps the other. Check the Best NFL Parlay Today page for tonight's available legs by book.
Should you use a promo on tonight's SGP?
If you have a bonus bet sitting in your account, you can use it on an SGP — but remember, bonus bets pay profit only. The stake is not returned even if you win. A $50 bonus bet on an SGP at +400 returns $200, not $250. More detail on that mechanic is on our Using Bonus Bets on Parlays page.
BetMGM runs a One Game Parlay Insurance promo where you can get up to $25 back in bonus bets if a 4+ leg SGP loses by exactly one leg. Legs must be -200 or better; boosted odds and bonus-funded legs don't qualify. Full terms at our BetMGM One Game Parlay Insurance — How the $25 Back Offer Works page.
A note on SGP correlation rules
Each sportsbook sets its own correlation rules for SGPs. Some leg combinations are blocked entirely — correlated parlays have historically been restricted because they reduce the book's edge. If your ticket gets rejected at one book, try another; operators differ on what they'll allow inside a single-game builder.
Also keep tabs on how parlay odds boosts work — some books apply automatic SGP boosts once you hit three or more legs, which can move the needle meaningfully on payout.
